Volume icon not showing up, just a dot and a space

volume-pulseaudio is working just fine but the icon/font isn't displaying it just shows a dot and a space. I have ttf-font-awesome installed and all my other icons display. Any ideas??

I was able to fix this issue by adding this line to the bar block of my i3 config file

bar {
    ...
    font pango:Monospace, Font Awesome 8.5
}
