B2s Not Mirrored To Virtual Cab In VR (instead a small corner of my playfield's desktop is) #118
Comments
Hi @studlygoorite, does it mean it is now solved or not? It sounds as if you have it working in the last couple of sentences? Sometimes long ago, I changed the windows of the Server to be called "B2S Backglass server" rather than "Form1", and that meant that VPX couldn't capture the window anymore, but that is solved long ago in VPX. |
I wish :) that last paragraph is Mike's experience and he fixed his. I have found one other person with the exact same issue.....you think I should try out the latest master v2.5.0.310? and thanks for the reply |
I guess you can rather put it somewhere on the backglass, but not that it matters really, since you have it deactivated. I will check the crash if I can see where that comes from. Do you have any other log with the full crash info available?
You, can but there isn't really any new functionallity yet, "ONLY" merging of the DLL/EXE code and the first tries of getting the DLL not to make VPX stutter. The B2S painting runs in a separate thread. (ONLY when run as DLL, as EXE it should be the same as before) |
Hi, I have a strange issue that I can't figure out and wonder if anyone knows what reg keys (if that's the cause) I can delete to re-set my b2s server.
The issue is, all of a sudden (a few months back) my backglasses on my virtual cabs in VR no longer show the backglass but instead show a small section of my cab's playfield (folders and such from my desktop). If I de-select "Capture External Backglass" in the VPX VR Options the issue is solved but I never had to do this and this setting is required for certain VR tables that actually require the b2s file along side the VR table file.
I think the issue started when I set up my new PC with windows 11 and then updated the server from what Baller Installer installs. Maybe that's why there is this warning for updaters of the b2s that has been there since day one...."PinUP Popper BALLER Installer users please wait!, we are still working on a smooth upgrade", is this still an issue??
Any who, I have spent hours trying to figure this out and have went back to an older version and then back to newer of the server. I have tried every setting (that I could think of) that might cause this corner of my desktop to be projected as the backglass instead of the backglass. I have reregistered several times and used RegDllView to find and delete the B2SBackglassServer.DLL but this did not help.
I wonder if there is either a setting I missed or a reg key that I can delete that can help me start over/reset the server to fix this issue, without wiping everything and starting over? Note, MikeDaSpike had the same issue and had to find and delete the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\directb2s.1 key but I do not see this key....
here is his actual post about Mike's issue....
Finally, after tackling numerous tasks, everything is functioning correctly. I was evaluating a new version of the VisualPinballPreviewHandler from my good friend Scutters when he discovered that B2S had some issues with its registration, causing his DLL to malfunction. The solution was to remove HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\directb2s.1 from the registry, which allowed his DLL to be registered again. Subsequently, my B2S server also started working in VR! Thanks, Solters, you were close as well. Appreciation goes out to everyone who assisted me; this is definitely one to remember. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced this
