Is it possible to increase the font size using BetterDisplay

Hi,

I am using Mac Mini Intel with 4K 27inch ViewSonic monitor. Mac OS font size is very small when I set a resolution of full 4K resolution 3860x2160.

Is there a way or feature available in BetterDisplay to increase the font size without reducing the resolution ?

You can change the rendering resolution of the GUI. With the 2018 Mini you should be able to set up a HiDPI resolution of anywhere up to 3360x1890 with native smooth scaling enabled in the app (with an eGPU you have more options) - this will create a supersampled desktop which means the rendering resolution won't be lower than the 4K resolution you are using. But not only the font size will be changed, other GUI elements will fit to the new rendering resolution as well.

IF change to full resolution, the whole Mac fonts are become very small. I want to retain font size as bigger while using 4k full resolution.

So you want fonts to look big but other parts of the GUI look small? You can do that on a per-app basis if the app supports changing font size. For example, you can change the font size in Safari (View/Zoom In). Otherwise you can only change the scaling of the entire desktop. This will still produce a high resolution 4K desktop.

I was looking for kind of windows 11 display scaling feature. Anyway, I will try to increase font by app wise

If you want the display scaling feature, then you need to enable Native smooth scaling and change the slider to magnification.

It's not working. Resolution reducing to increase font size though slider.

Don't you want to increase the font size? The resolution is not reducing as the desktop is oversampled. A HiDPI resolution of 3008x1692 is rendered at 6016x3384 and then scaled back to 3840x2160 for the display. As long as the framebuffer resolution is above the physical resolution, you don't have a loss of quality. Same issue. I think what he mean is, retain the sizes of everything while using the native resolution 4k.. Currently, if we use the 4k display everything becomes small not only the text

All right, but you should then just set the logical resolution to something better that gives the appropriate GUI size. The output will sill be 4K (as it is independent of the scaled logical resolution - the resolution change only affects the framebuffer - video memory image - size). As long as you use HiDPI and the logical resolution is above 1920x1080, the image should be fine.

I got it now. In reality even though I'm using 2560 resolution, it actually using the native resolution

I'm using mac sonoma. On the displays setting there are 2 type of resolution, the scaled resolution and the other one with name "low resolution" this with low resolution are the blurred one
