no dock and cannot switch programs

There are two more problems. The first is: when I use Dummy, the extended display will flicker at first, and it will be fine after unplugging the cable and plugging it in again; the second is: the extended display does not display the dock. There is no way to switch programs, and gesture control can only control the built-in display. M1 MacBook Pro, MacOs is Monterey 12.0.1. Dummy version is 1.0.5 b160

Hi, what is your exact display configuration? I think you might not have configured things properly in System Preferences/Displays - which is sometimes not easy as Displays is rather buggy, sometimes you have to do things twice or three times until it works properly.

If you'd show me a screen shot of what you see under Displays, I might figure out what's wrong for you. :)

I also have the first flickering issue. It flickers quite brightly when I move the mouse or there is other motion on the screen -- if the screen is still the image is fine. This typically happens when waking from sleep (which seems to have it's own issues, with my setup at least)

I can take a video/gif of this happening if that will help, but in the meantime here are the stats:

Resolution set to 2580x1080 (21.5 x 9)
"2K" / QHD native resolution
M1 MacBook Pro (2021)
Display port -> USB C
Monitor that should output 75 Hz via display port (not sure what it actually is though)
BetterDummy v1.0.10 (error on update)

Besides physically disconnecting and reconnecting the cable, I can also solve the problem by clicking Dissociate and then re-associating the settings to the display (or quitting and restarting). Im not sure which of that information might be useful, but a fix would be very much appreciated :)

Yes, BetterDummy v1.0.10 won't be able to update. :( There was an issue which is related to sandboxing. You'll have to manually update to v1.0.12. Sorry about that!

The flickering issue probably happens when the mirrored dummy and the host screen has different Color Profiles. Syncing them up will probably help. It is one of the several bugs macOS suffers when virtual screens are mirrored. I am planning to add an alternative to mirroring in the next update which should solve this issue along with other problems (sleep issue, swipe issue etc).
