I made the mistake of updating Better Display right before a livestream. Sadly, the update changed the language of Better Display to German, but I don't speak German, so I'm kinda screwed. 😂 |

Update: I tried forcing the change in MacOS preferences, but English isn't even listed as a compatible language. |

Hmm. How did it become German? Shouldn't it be Korean? |

(I mean that's what is listed as System Default for you, but I see the UI seems English otherwise. Weird). |

I agree with you, but I've never spoken anything other than English. Never set my computer to anything other than English. This happened when I launched the app. It said I had an update, so I updated. Then it was all in German. I've never touched language settings. |

I made sure everything is set to english on my machine (it always has been), and I rebooted my machine. Still Better Display is in German. 😂 |

To clarify. I never set a language for Better Display. I went to languages and saw that it's possible to customize the language per app. That's when I saw that English wasn't even an option. But I didn't set it to any language. |

I see. Honestly I am not sure what could be the issue. The app itself does not specify it's language (except that English is the default), localization language selection is a system feature, so I am not sure why this is happening. I am not sure why German comes up if the System thinks it should be in Korean - but since you speak English, both Korean and German seems to be a wrong. Weird. 🫨 If you tried changing the language for other apps, do you see Korean as system default as well? Theoretically you can change an app's language using the |

I have the same thing here... I have a Mac Mini M1 with Sonoma, where language is unchanged (English), but on my old Mac Pro ("Thrascan") running Monterey the language has changed to German, even though my system language is Norwegian. There is a langauge override in the macOS system settings, but neither English nor Norwegian is selectable for the BetterDisplay.app. Maybe there is something that's not working as expected on older OS versions? I'd be happy to provide logs or other data if you can tell me what to look for @waydabber. |

Here is an updated v2.3.7 version that fixes this issue: https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/releases/download/v2.3.7/BetterDisplay-v2.3.7.dmg Details: The v2.3.6 version on a Monterey installs using US English and indeed not working properly, English is not available. The reason is that the default development language is English and therefore there is no English localization file in the app bundle (as it should not be needed). But due to a bug in Monterey this causes an issue (which is a known thing), so an empty language file should have been provided during build process. This was forgotten. The only difference between v2.3.5 and v2.3.6 is a re-build of all localizations (due to an Xcode crash issue caused by the old localization string repository for unknown reasons) and during that process this empty localization file was not created. This did not come up during the tests as the bundle works perfectly in Ventura, Sonoma and Sequoia without this extraneous empty localization file. Sorry about the issue! |

The solution right now is simply to use the v2.3.5 version.
v2.3.5 and
v2.3.6 are fully identical in all of its features, the only
difference
is the localization update and updated Chinese and Japanese
languages,
but these do not consider English users.
