Yes, I am afraid Apple Silicon Macs do not support MST tiling anymore (afaik, but I don't have first hand experience). Apple added this to Intel Macs after some of these early 4K displays came out to give Pro desktop users "Retina" experience but since the industry generally moved on, it seems like Apple decided supporting these displays is not a priority. 😞 |

Hi guys, I've just upgraded to a new M3 pro MacBook and I'm having an issue where display output from it is stuck at either 3840x2160 30Hz or max 1440p at 60Hz. It's an old display, one of the first to support 4K resolution in fact. My understanding it uses DisplayPort 1.2 with MST(daisy Chain)/HBR2 to an achieve this, but it limits resolution as if bandwidth is only limited to DisplayPort 1.1a. It's a problem on a new MacBook with OS 14 only, my previous MacBook from 2016 on OS 12 gets to 4k@60Hz as Plug-and-Play. Can someone here help to solve this via this app or otherwise?
