Nm. You can close this issue. I was changing the name in the wrong location. I was changing it to override the name provided by the mfgr in the "Edited System Display name" Field. I needed to change the name in the "Additional settings section" in the "Custom displayed name" field. This worked. |

Yes, since the EDID override works at a vendor/model ID level, it will change the name of all similar displays. |

Hello,
I have a M1 MBP and use it with the built in display and two external LG 27" 4k monitors (27UP600-W.AUM). They are each seen by BetterDisplay and it works great to change resolution, brightness, etc.
When i try to rename the monitor in the BetterDisply app, it renames both monitors the same. When i rename one of them "LG-Right DOCK" then become "LG Right DOCK 1" and "LG Right DOCK 2". And if i rename one of them "LG Left", they both become "LG Left 1" and "LG Left 2".
The app can clearly see they have different serial numbers and can pull all the specific info such as Year of Manufacture, Week of Manufacture, etc. But it doesnt seem to differentiate between them when i rename them.
Is this a known issue? Is there a way to rename the monitors? I've tried unplugging one and renaming the one, and the same behavior occurs. They both have the same name.
