How to make window panes and text larger with 4K resolution #3387

Hi there - You might want to choose a middle-ground resolution, like 2560x1440 HiDPI or something other that looks nice. You can enable flexible scaling (https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay/wiki/Fully-scalable-HiDPI-desktop) to get more options. You can't selectively increase/decrease the size of individual GUI elements in macOS (unless for apps which provide special provisions for this built-in, like the independent website scaling options in Safari), only scale the entire GUI. |

Does that mean I would lose color depth?

No, you won't loose color depth, resolution scaling does not affect colors luckily. |

I enable the HiDPI feature, then choose a resolution that is easy on the eyes. Without the HiDPI feature, would just lose clarity, right?

Yes, without HiDPI using a scaled resolution or anything lower than the native resolution will loose clarity - so you should avoid that. Using anything between 1920x1080 and 3840x2160 HiDPI will utilize the full capabilities of the display and your Mac (but with a Mini unless it's the M2 Pro variant you'll have a max HiDPI resolution of 3072x1728px).

I am new to BetterDisplay. I have a Silicon-M2 Mac mini and a Dell U2722 4K monitor. Mac mini defaults to 1080 resolution. When I switch to 4K, all menus, window panes, browser bars get too small on the screen. Using BetterDisplay, which function do I use to increase the font sizes in the pulldown menus, browser address bar, etc? I can get the menu bar to rescale easily in the system preferences, but there does not seem to be an unhidden method to get the menu fonts larger, for example.
Thank you for you assistance.
