This is a rare issue as the use case does not make much sense except for some special circumstances - however this should be fixed anyway.

Way to reproduce:

  1. Mirror virtual screen to a HDR display
  2. Put the display into HDR mode in System Settings/Displays (the HDR toggle is unavailable in BetterDisplay when the screen is mirror target - I think rightly so)
  3. Observe the display's settings pane show "Apple display hardware brightness control" under Hardware Control instead of DDC.
