Wire Webapp as well as Wire-Android lower the volume of / mute other applications when receiving a message, pauses playback for a few seconds for some applications #12669
Comments
It happens at my system and that of a collegue as well. Both Windows 10 Enterpise 22H1, Wire for Web Version 2022.02.22.08.56. |
Thank you for sharing this. The issue appearing on Windows 10 as well gives me some hope that this might be addressed one day. |
Two months later the issue still persists. Can we please get a response? Is it known? Will it be addressed? |
I have this problem too on MacOS. |
Further observation: the playback pauses because windows switches the headset to the hands-free profile. It does that because the microphone gets activated. Choosing a built in micro instead of the headset's one mitigates the problem. My company chose another platform, so that's my last comment on this issue. |
Follow-up: Can we please get a developer statement on this? This is one of the most inconvenient "bugs" of wire. |
Hello,
Wire-Webapp and Wire-Desktop lower the volume of all other applications when the notification tune for a received message is played.
It even pauses the playback in Windows Media Player.
Needless to say: This is really annoying.
I haven't found a setting to turn this behaviour off.. is it a bug?
This happens on:
Addendum:
I tried it on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with the wire-desktop application and the issue does not exist.
It seems to be a Windows (7?) specific issue.
Edit: It also happens on Android where it mutes other messengers while one is in a video call, for example.
