aws-gate ssh-proxy not able to create ~/.aws-gate directory #829

Using Ubuntu 20.10 with local user

aws-gate commands were giving the following error:
[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '~/.aws-gate/key'

Solved after manually creating the dir
mkdir ~/.aws-gate

Experiencing same issue on Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7
