Firstly, I'd like to thank you. Your application looks great and seems to do exactly what I'm looking for.

However, it does not work for me for some reason. The application seems to be working fine at the moment I launch it. It gets all the apps notification badges correctly. However, at some point it looses track of new notifications. I have to quit Doll app and relaunch it. Some time later the issue repeats.

Here is a screenshot.

Conditions:

  • I have bartender app running. Not sure if it affects the Doll app however.
  • I have Automatically hide and show the Dock enabled
  • I have a one second delay for the Dock appearance set by defaults write com.apple.dock autohide-delay -float 1; killall Dock
  • I tried your app version 0.0.8 about a half a year ago when I firstly encountered this issue. macOS Ventura
  • Today I installed the latest version 0.0.9.2 and I'm still facing the same issue. macOS Sonoma 14.3.1
  • I've never picked an app from finder. Just searched for Slack and Mail inside the Doll app.
  • My system language is English.
  • I tried to revoke Accessibility permissions and grant them again.

How can I assist you in debugging?

I was having the same issue with Doll but seem to have fixed it, at least it has worked since last week. Try running "sudo tccutil reset Accessibility" and reboot. It may have been something else that fixed the issue, but I believe this was it.

Unfortunately this did not fix the issue for me, nor does restarting Doll. So at some point it just looses track of notifications on seemingly random apps, until a computer restart.
