The look and feel of the book is determined by the file 'preamble.tex'. Remember that a single file is used for all works, so changes to it must be placed in both the BIND core book, and Adventures in Fenestra, at a minimum.
If any other books emerge, they shouldn't touch the preamble directly - requests should be put in to change it in the BIND git.
Right now, the preamble's rather plain and simple. It'd like to keep it printable at a minimum, but if anyone wants to go nuts with tikz and add some fancy borders, be my guest.
Latex has the awesome ability to provide a reference book with the same document as the core book. It works like this:
Swords add +1 to Damage%
\iftoggle{verbose}{because they're shiny, sharp, and awesome.
Let me illustrate with an example...}{.}
If the toggle verbose
is 'true' then you get all the stuff in the first curly braces.
If the toggle is set to 'false', you get what's in the second brackets.
The second brackets are usually empty, so you'll see a lot of }{}
in the document, meaning 'end verbose rant, nothinging in reference version'.
