Triton UAS: Club

Build, test, and fly their own autonomous planes

Autonomous Planes:Used to complete missions

  • Need a flying plane
  • Get to way point to download data

Subteams:

* Airframe: Design and build their own aircraft

Uses Matlab and Python

Matlab: Used to detect/counter wind current and avoid other planes

Manufacturing: Create and design the aircraft

UGV: Unman drone vehicle

* Embedded: Payload and Ground Control Station

Payload: Doesn't explode and made to carry everything

Ground Control Station: antenna tracker that provides wifi to the plane so it doesn't crash

Software: Old Path Planning and New Path Planning, Computer Vision

Old Path Planning: Missed some spots to take photos of

New Path Planning(WIP): More efficient(Creates waypoints and finds the best route to take)

Computer Vision: Being able to snap a photo of numbers/letters placed in the zone. Easier to classify color, direction, and what letter/number is placed in the zone.

* Business: Focused on presenting to other people about their club. (Funding)

Personal Take Aways: Club contains people who did Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. Math: Logical math, barely any calculus.
