Three Milestones in the 1st year of Prometeo Platform (2020)

# Milestone 1. February-March'2020, 1st Prometeo Testing with real data

From the prototype with simulated data to Prometeo version 1 with real data from firefighters in the field

## Milestone 1.1. February 10-11, 2020: First Prometeo Testing + Monitoring in the field

10 firefighters tested Prometeo with real fire in a prescribed burn (Olivella, Barcelona)

Main targets:

  • Test the casing. A new case was built to protect the sensors. 3D printing.
  • Test the sensors in the field. Test temperature&humidity sensors and the new sensor that was added in the device to monitor CO concentration.
  • Have real data from firefighters' environment when they are working on prescribed burns with real fire.
  • Collect suggestions from firefighters
  • Test connectivity with Project Owl local network

Results:

  • The case was strong enough to work properly during the 2 days of prescribed burns
  • The 3 sensors collected real data from the environment (T, H, CO concentration) without any issue to remark
  • Connectivity through local network (ducks from Project Owl) worked well
  • Good feedback from firefighters about the solution. Casing to be improved.
  • Device survey: (1) Design 3,7/5 ; (2) Size 3,8/5; (3) Weight 4,2/5; Battery life 3,8/5; Overall score 4,1/5
  • Suggestions: Fireproof, blameproof, waterproof, stronger device, more robust, unbreakeable, with better clip, velcro, carabiner/metacrafter, without cable or elements outside, other allocations (on the left side of the jacket to avoid being in the radio location, on the bag, on the helmet, on the belt, in the back, integrated in to the jacket), Smaller and thinner,CO sensor hot in the end of the sesión,cover the sensors, only 1 case not 3 elements, better battery

## Milestone 1.2. March 11, 2020: Prometeo testing in the field + Monitoring by Firefighters' Command Center

9 firefithters will test Prometeo with real fire in a prescribed burn (site to be defined)
Prometeo dashboard&alerts will be monitored by Firefighters' Command Center in Cerdanyola (Barcelona)

Main targets:

  • Devices Will be delivered to the firefighters and they will test them by their own. Test behaviour ownership&device management
  • Test the monitoring activities in the Command Center (what to do with each colour alert)

# Milestone 2. May'2020, 2nd Prometeo Testing, New Case, Connectivity options (5G, Edge) and forest fire testing

Main targets:

  • Test new device: Fireproof, waterproof, unbreakeable, with better clip, sensors and microcontroller
  • Test 5G connectivity, device update to support 5G
  • Test Device working off-line with Prometeo rearquitecture suppporting Edge platform
  • Test Centralized device management for several firefighters' departments/sites with Edge platform
  • Compare real data in prescribed burn vs real data in forest fires (forest fire risk season)
  • Covid19# confinament from 15/03/2020. Several activities have been postponed.

# Milestone 3. Sept-Dec'2020, 3rd Prometeo Testing, New Platform and Global Testing (Barcelona, California, Australia, Argentina) (Calendar under revision due to coronavirus crisis )

Main targets:

  • Add additional variables to the machine learning model (environmental+ firefighters' data)
  • Test solution interface with other devices
  • Test Prometeo improvements in real-time capabilities and trend-analysis capabilities
  • Have real data from firefighters in other countries
  • Collect suggestions from firefighters in other countries
  • Compare real data in prescribed burns vs real data in forest fires (forest fire risk season) in different locations
