Interactive part: Visualizing the Uncertainty in Data

Read the blog post by Nathan Yau: https://flowingdata.com/2018/01/08/visualizing-the-uncertainty-in-data/

In five groups, focus on one of the following sections:

  1. Ranges
  2. Distributions
  3. Multiple Outcomes
  4. Simulations
  5. Obscurity

As group work, create one slide summarizing the uncertainty visualization technique suggested in the section.

  • What is the purpose of the representation of uncertainty in general?
  • Explain the example visualization. What type of uncertainty does it show?
  • Do you find the representation of uncertainty useful in this case?
  • Find an example related to our COVID-19 data to which the uncertainty visualization technique could be applied.
