Data can be exported using reportlab by prompting to generate a report. But the reports are ugly and sometimes don't fit the page.

Open to any suggestions on how to standardize the reports and make them look nicer

Maybe, instead of just including the table, the report can contain the summary of the table, what it is, how the table helps the end user who will be using the report and related information

Yes this is good.

Ideally the reporting feature needs to fit the page well, and the reporting feature should work with other outputs, not just tables, but plaintext too and ideally charts and maps as well

Plaintext is doable, I wonder how to integrate it with charts and other stuff, have take a look at it
