Our working principles are based largely on those of 18F, GSA's technology and design consultancy for the U.S. Government.
Our team follows user-centered design and development practices as best we can.
We work for the people of the United States, and thus believe our product and work processes must be accessible and inclusive to everyone. As a result, accessibility is among our core success metrics.
Based on our conversations to date, we understand that the FAS Professional Services and Human Capital Category, OASIS+ team is looking for help creating a clear, intuitive, informative, and accessible website. We heard that the clearest opportunities at OASIS+ right now are:
- Make it easier for customer agencies to find the information they need to make purchasing decisions using OASIS+
- Make it easier for suppliers to understand how to participate in OASIS+ and what is required of them
- Ensure the Professional Services team can sustain the website and content In order to tackle these opportunities, and in recognition of technical constraints as GSA completes the migration from Drupal 7, to 9, to 10, we’d focus on a phased approach with this project:
User research to understand user types, goals, pain points, and scenarios in which they would use this website. Content strategy to understand existing OASIS content and assist with developing new OASIS+ content. Technical discovery to see what is possible in Drupal 9.
After we complete Phase 1, collectively, we’ll revisit this proposal and add additional details for Phase 2, which will likely include:
- Tree sorting to develop information architecture.
- Prototyping and usability testing to iterate with users on information architecture, design, and content.
- Site launch.
We believe the proposed work has great potential to help OASIS+ reduce administrative burden and better meet the needs of their users. The GSA Service Delivery team has the technical expertise to help as you achieve these goals. Below is a high-level proposal for how we can get started working together on this project
