Make sure that the "stepped zoom" (such as with scroll wheel) behaves nicely regardless of input device:

Touchpads (pixel unit)
Mouse wheels (line unit)
macOS with its fancy exponential fractional line scrolling
others...

Further, the "step" (zoom speed / sensitivity) should be configurable.
