Amiage GitBucket User Guide

Setup Instruction (version 3.11 or later)

First, visit by browser.

  • https://${public_hostname}

Please fill box with your instnace_id and push Next Step to unlock.

After unlock, you can continue setup with wizard.

What are Default Username and Password?

https://${public_hostname}

  • Default Login: root / root (version 3.11 or later)
  • Default Login: root / ${YOUR_INSTANCE_ID} (before version 3.11)

How to manage service?

The gitbucket process under init.d.

service gitbucket {start|stop|restart}

How to Upgrade?

  1. stop service service gitbucket stop.
  2. Overwrite /opt/gitbucket/jetty/webapps/root.war
  3. start service service gitbucket start.

before version 3.11 to latest

  1. stop service service gitbucket stop.
  2. Backup old version. mv /opt/gitbucket/jetty/webapps/ROOT /tmp/ROOT.gitbucket2.x. (Don't leave backup under webapps!!)
  3. Remove directory rm -rf /opt/gitbucket/jetty/webapps/ROOT
  4. get new version warfile from https://github.com/takezoe/gitbucket/releases.
  5. move gitbucket.war to /opt/gitbucket/jetty/webapps/root.war
  6. start service service gitbucket start.

update jdk from 1.7 to 1.8

use alternatives.

sudo yum install java-1.8.0-openjdk-devel
sudo alternatives --config java

---- # type 2
There are 2 programs which provide 'java'.
