The MJC was founded in 2014 by Alison McGreavy.
The first meetup was on 23rd May 2014 with 4 people attending, one of which was Debbie Roycroft who become a co-organiser.
Nick Ebbitt then joined the leadership team in 2017, with Andy Dunmore joining a few years later.
In 2021, new impetus was placed on growing the community and expanding the group of people actively involved with planning and running events.
