We had an issue filed in the google/fonts repository, google/fonts#1092.
The gasp settings were:
They are now:
the previous settings make the fonts look very blocky in Windows environments. Those particular settings work well when fonts have been hinted with VTT. The new settings apply smoothing at all sizes so it appears less blocky.
I also bumped the version number to v1.001 as well.
