Common errors

Do you have a big error in your console or log file about AreaShop? Check the things below to see if you can solve it quickly. The first thing you have to do is reading the startup log of your server, check for any messages starting with [AreaShop]. The plugin possibly indicates what is wrong, below some common messages can be found.

AreaShop message: WorldGuard plugin is not present or has not loaded correctly

You have not installed WorldGuard or WorldGuard has errors when starting, install WorldGuard or fix the errors it has. Check if the WorldGuard version you use is appropriate for your Bukkit/Spigot version.

AreaShop message: WorldEdit plugin is not present or has not loaded correctly

You have not installed WorldEdit or WorldEdit has errors when starting, install WorldEdit or fix the errors it has. Check if the WorldEdit version you use is appropriate for your Bukkit/Spigot version.

AreaShop message: Vault plugin is not present or has not loaded correctly

You have not installed Vault or Vault has errors when starting, install Vault or fix the errors it has. Check if the Vault version you use is appropriate for your Bukkit/Spigot version.

Error containing: Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

You are using an old version of Java, you need to have at least Java 7. Install the latest stable version of Java (version 8 at time of writing) and restart your server.
