Have the same issue. Using the newest nightly build. I'm going to try different / stable version of the builds.

Coop works fine in free mode. I think the bug lies somewhere in the empire mode when it splits the game into splitscreen from solo.

I remember playing DW5:E multiplayer just fine with the stable version 1.6.0 about a year ago.

Have the same issue. Using the newest nightly build. Tried different / stable version and it’s the same. I’ve tried searching for different dw5 empire roms. I’ve only found the same USA zip as well as some international version. I tried the EU/AU version and got the same error code.

I haven't think about using the stable version to play nor test it until your reply came, so I did my own test and you're right!
The error is occurred, but you can choose 'Ignore' and the game could continue to run (Although I do not playing it any further at the time of this writing) unlike the nightly build that keep getting the error messages over and over again.

Here is the result after choosing 'Ignore':

@refractionpcsx2 Sorry, I'm new to this website and didn't understand the specifics of the rules. Edited my comment. If it needs to be edited further please let me know. I'm sorry for the issue I caused and having to take your time to let me know.

@Jancoegers Nice!!!! I actually feel silly, I didn't hit ignore and just hit abort. I'm glad it worked out! I'm going to download 1.6.0 if that's the version you used!

Still an issue on nightly release 2.1.93

I also tried EE Timing Hack as many others suggested in other threads but nothing changed.

Edit: Tested on 1.6.0 stable, it triggers the same error but after selecting "ignore" the game continues to play although the error "Unknown Vif Cmd" keeps to be detected until the battle is started

It works in 1.6.0 after choose 'Ignore' as I and @neosarif experienced.

@Jancoegers @neosarif Can you try #12028

@Technostrophe

No crashes observed with #12028, went through it a dozen times, picking different areas of invasions, adding a second player, no error message appears anymore.
