Service Lens is an enterprise service management tool. It allows you to manage your services, identify risks, review the solutions that created them and the business context of every service. It follows the Well-Architected methodology established by AWS and Microsoft.

## Well-Architected Framework

This is an approach to evalute your architecture and implement sclable designs.
By capturing the pros and cons of the systems you are building.
It fuels a continous process of measuring your architecture against best-practices, and helps to identify risks associated with any decision you made.

While established implementations of a Well-Architected Framework with the [Azure Well-Architected Framework](https://learn.microsoft.com/de-de/azure/well-architected/) or the [AWS Well-Architected](https://aws.amazon.com/architecture/well-architected) are mostly focused on your infrastructure in the cloud this approach is more general.

## Lens Format Specification

A lens specifies best pratice pillars, questions to evaluate against the principles in those pillars and the risks asoociated with the pros and cons of your architecture.
The [/format](Lens Format Specification) is JSON-format that enables you to express the best practices or guiding principles for any imaginable workload.
