Home Assistant (https://www.home-assistant.io) Integration Component
This custom component integrates the SMA EV Charger into Home Assistant.
This method needs to have HACS installed correctly. For more info on HACS refer to here.
Click on the following button to have the SMA EV Charger integration added automatically to HACS. Once the installation is done, go on with the Configuration below.
If My Home Assistant does not work for you, you might consider installing the SMA EV Charger integration manually using HACS. For this you need to add a custom repository following the instructions here.
When asked, use the custom repository link https://github.com/alengwenus/ha-sma-ev-charger
Select the category type integration
Once the repository is downloaded click the INSTALL button (still in HACS). Go on with the Configuration below.
You probably do not want to do this! Use one of the HACS methods above unless you know what you are doing and have a good reason as to why you are installing manually
- Using the tool of choice open the directory (folder) for your HA configuration (where you find

- Download all the files from the
custom_components/smaev/
directory in this repository - Place the files you downloaded in the new directory you created
- Restart HA to load the new integration
- Go on with the Configuration below
