EV Nova Community Edition r4
Changes:
- Image blitting has been reimplemented using GDI+, for improved quality and performance.
- Map borders draw in a much larger area, supporting fullscreen map sizes up to 1920x1080.
- Nebula image selection prefers larger images over smaller ones, for improved display quality.
- The hotkey for "x2" mode can be overridden in the ddraw.ini file.
- Game icon has been replaced with the higher-quality version from Mac Nova.
- Improved support for odd-width resolutions, no longer leaving a blank column on the right.
- Improved support for loading data files from alternative locations with new .nplay files.
- ddraw dll override will be automatically enabled when running in wine.
EV Nova Community Edition r3
Changes:
- The app path is written to the registry, allowing scripts etc to locate the exe.
- The game will look for its Files, Plug-ins & Pilots in the "current directory", to facilitate running total conversions.
- Hyperspace Effects preference is now visible and will disable the white flash when turned off.
- Pilot files are no longer encrypted.
- New custom debug-mode functions added to execute NCB strings.

- Greatly improved the UI scaling feature, which now also scales the status bar.
- Added support for enabling the built-in debug mode.
- 'ppat' decoder rewritten to support lower bit depths as used in EVC/EVO.
- Added fix for poor quality Mission BBS title rendering in Wine.
- Increased the particle cap.
- Improved handling of windowed checkbox in prefs.
- CE version is displayed in the lower left corner on the main menu.
- Included Charcoal font file for button text.
