Repository files navigation
The script (also called awpass) is a *very* thin wrapper around pass. pass is very well designed but does not quite fit a multiuser workflow. This script adds two things. It points pass to the git repo storing passwords. It also pulls before an operation and pushes after, keeping the git repo safely synchronised with remote. Network access is required. To run without a network, set the envar OFFLINE to any non-empty value. For example: OFFLINE=x awpass show RemoteServer/admin Do not forget to push if you have made any changes offline. As the files are encrypted (binary), rebase and non-ff merge are not easy. There are three stages to setup: GPG, git repo, and finally the script itself. Follow the checklist below. Dependencies - GPG2 - Git - pass - bash GPG - Create a GPG key. - Share public key with your co-conspirators. - Receive all public keys of your colleagues. They will have access to all the passwords. Make sure GPG sees the keys as valid. Git repository - Clone from remote. - Setup remote and have master track upstream. This should have been done for you by clone. - Configure git user and email. This will appear in commits. Script - Copy to somewhere in $PATH. - Set executable. - Edit PASSWORD_STORE_DIR to path to the git repo. The script should work thereafter. Call as `awpass`. Output (such as help) will refer to pass. This really is a thin wrapper. In zsh, if you want completion, add this to your .zshrc: compdef _pass awpass
