- BOW stands for Bugzilla Objective Watchdog.
- BOW is a Bugzilla extension showing changes of specific bug attributes overtime in tables with sortable columns and direct links to bugs. Each query has it's own tab to provide simple comparison between different queries. The data range is set to current by default, but you can jump back 1 week to view the changes. You can export the tables with sorted columns to a .csv file.
- The admin user interface includes settings to add/remove queries showing in tabs and control the user group that can access BOW.
- BOW is EXTREMELY cool, it's a real helper to monitor who does what and when (we could have call it bugzilla Big Brother but...)
- BOW is not design as a repression or totalitarian tool (users, users, users...)
- BOW frontend is using Javascript.
BOW was initially created to monitor changes on specific bug attributes that even a complex Bugzilla query cannot easily fetch. It's initial form was way rougher, just a html output containing tables. The motivation behind monitoring changes overtime is to ensure reasonable and coherent behavior in large user base. a tool to remind users when they do not do the right thing, like batch demoting bug severity.
