I get this request all the time: "OMG, I think Gow needs XYZ binary!"
This can happen but I need some help. Please answer the following questions for me first:
- Is there a Windows binary available?
- Perform a Google search for "X windows binary" to see. If not then please don't post. Many apps are only available for Unix.
- What is X utility? What does it do?
- Please provide a link to the utility and the project page and the Windows binary that you found. Also I need a link to the source code if it's a GPL application because I'll need to include it.
- Is the utility free or open source?
- I can't distribute anything that has a restrictive license. Is the source code available with the binary? It should if it's a GPL binary or I can't distribute it.
- Does the binary work without Cygwin?
- It should link only with MSVCRT. Open the binary in depends if you don't know for sure. I don't want to step on the toes of the Cygwin guys.
- Is this binary something that can truly be considered "lightweight"?
- There are utilities that do everything. Gow is only for really generally useful utilities.
