What is the ABQ Open Data Census?

The first step in making data actionable is to make sure the data is easily accessible. Many cities, whether they have an open data policy in place or not, have work to do in terms of making datasets open and available online.

We are using the US City Census project as a starting point for evaluating the availability and doing an inventory of the open data in Albuquerque. This will allow us to get acquainted with each other and existing data sources. Additionally, educating ourselves of data availability will help facilitate our relationship with the city & county.

If you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us ([email protected])!

How it works?

Pick a topic (or a few) from the ABQ Open Data Census Spreadsheet to review. Declare your topics in the spreadsheet using red text

Review your topics on the US City Census Site and complete the associated questionnaire. You will have the option of logging in or remaining anonymous. When researching your topic, be sure to only use information. Here is the city’s open data page - you can use this as a starting point for your evaluation.

When you are finished reviewing, change the color of your name in the spreadsheet to green for the topics you reviewed

When is the project complete?

When every row in the ABQ Open Data Census spreadsheet has been populated by a “reviewer”
