How to get Firebot sounds(Audio file) sent to Discord Voice

I just threw together a quick and dirty setup while testing to set this up myself just to see how it could be done.

I'm using:

  1. VoiceMeeter Banana - http://www.vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/index.htm
  2. CheVolume - http://www.chevolume.com/. Should be possible with Audio Router as well https://github.com/audiorouterdev/audio-router
  3. VB-Audio Virtual Cable - http://www.vb-audio.com/Cable/index.htm
  4. Firebot
  5. OBS Studio Alpha ( Latest Mixer Version of OBS ) - https://github.com/mixer/obs-studio-ftl/releases

Windows System Settings

Default Playback Devices

Deafult Audio Output Device on my computer = VoiceMeeter Input (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO)

Default Communication/Input Device = VoiceMeeter Output (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter AUX VAIO)

Default Recording Devices: Logitech G633 Gaming Headset

CheVolume

In CheVolume I've set firebot default output on the Cable Input (VB-Audio Virtual Cable) device.

VoiceMeeter Banana

Hardware Input 1: Cable Output (VC-Audio Virtual Cable) Sound plays on A1 and A2, depends on your Output settings in the next step.

Hardware Input 2: Logitech G633 Mic

Both of the Inputs are routed to B2 so that the Input Device for Discord picks up both Firebot and my Mic.

For Hardware Outputs I have:

A1: Speakers (Sound Blaster Recon3Di)

A2: Logitech G633 Haming Headset

Virtual Inputs:

VoiceMeeter VAIO -> A1 (A2 when streaming so that I don't get sounds from my speakers feeding back into the loop through my mic)

VoiceMeeter VAIO AUX -> A2

OBS

Desktop Audio Device: VoiceMeeter Input (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter VAIO)

Desktop Audio Device 2: VoiceMeeter AUX Input (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter AUX VAIO)

Mix/Auxiliary Audio Device: Logitech G633 Gaming Headset

Mix/Auxiliary Audio Device 2: Cable Output (VB-Audio Virtual Cable)

Discord

Input Device: VoiceMeeter AUX Output (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter AUX VAIO)

Output Device: VoiceMeeter AUX Input (VB-Audio VoiceMeeter AUX VAIO)
