Why Argos

The idea behind Argos Delivery

Argos Delivery tries to solve the problem of not only knowing where a package is (there are already solutions that let you track a delivery), but rather what state a delivery is in.

Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to trust the word of a delivery company that the package hasn't been dropped, but instead the packet itself would tell us the immutable truth?

By scanning a package for delivery and writing its state to the Tangle, we're essentially creating a "digital twin" of our real-world package. The real-world package now starts to sense its current state via sensors and mirrors important actions to its digitial twin on the IOTA ledger.

Name and logo

Argos is a creature in Greek mythology with "a hundred eyes". It is know for watching a specific thing precisely. You might also know the term "watched by the eyes of Argus". It fits perfectly as a symbol for tracking the delivery of a package.

"The eyes" also reflect in the logo which comprises of 3 stylistic eyes that are in different states (closed, half-open, wide-open).
