Soul Sand Valley
A dangerous, murky biome overflowing with sand and dirt filled with the souls of the damned, who will slow you down should you step upon them. filled to the brim with Ghasts, Skeletons, and Embodies, this biome is one that truly requires a degree of caution.
-
Soul Sand - The primary block of the biome, Soul Sand dominates the biome. The souls trapped inside will slow your movement unless walked over with boots using the Soul Speed enchantment, obtainable from Piglins.
-
Soul Soil - The secondary block of the biome, Soul Soil does not slow you down normally while still allowing you to benefit from Soul Speed.
-
Basalt - Frozen pillars of Basalt are littered throughout the biome. Was it the temperature of the biome or the presence of souls that froze them?
-
Crimson Roots can very occasionally be found in the biome.
-
Giant Fossils - the main 'decoration' of the biome. Very valuable for collecting bonemeal.
-
Skeletons - Overworld archers who've died in the Nether now roam in the place they lost their souls. Especially troublesome to deal with in the midst of Soul Sand.
-
Ghasts - The wailing monsters congregate here and will shoot you down. Be wary of them.
-
Soul Stone - A hardened form of Soul Sand that, like the Soil of the biome, does not normally slow you down when stepped upon. It can be mined and turned into Nether Fortress-style bricks.
-
Soul Slate - The cooked form of Soul Soil. Can also be used to create a large-style brick block-set.
