Compatibility to TYPO3 8 has to be dropped if TypoScript Conditions use the new syntax. The only way around that would be to duplicate the whole TypoScript and add the different static files based on current TYPO3 version. |

In TYPO3 9 the old condition syntax is technically allowed but throws a lot of warnings into the log if
[SYS][features][TypoScript.strictSyntax]is enabled (which it is by default)
