Trying to get a reasonable amount of content ported from the old payed-for CMS system to github as a more permanent home for the project.

It's crazy to imagine that this project has been around for more than 10 years. It was the thing that got me several game industry jobs, and the project that I put tons of tinkering time into for furthering my experience in game A.I. I would love to be able to say I plan to pick it back up and continue working on it, but unfortunately I can't make any guarantees that I will actually be able to. That's frustrating too, because despite the last release being quite some time ago, there has been substantial unreleased work since then that I would love to get out there.

Some of the highlights include

  • Improved/expanded game->bot interface API
  • Bot can load the collision geometry from Q3/HL2 based games and generate tiled navigation meshes on the fly, which adapts dynamically.
  • Support for Fortress Forever, Modular Combat(HL2 in general)

My mind is still full of stuff I would love to do with the bot, it is just that spare time has become limited in the past couple years. Part of the rationale of putting the project on github was in the hope that other contributors might be motivated to dive in.
