Releases: majn/telegram-purple
Purple Bundle v1.4.7
Check out tdlib-purple, which will hopefully become telegram-purple's successor. Note that only the following features are missing:
- Retrieve history on first login (not everyone needs this)
- Add options to ignore certain groups (why use a messenger if you don't want to ever see those messages?!)
- Turn off sending read receipts: ars3niy/tdlib-purple#22
So it's a good replacement in many cases already.
This is a bundle of all sources and binaries related to version 1.4.7:
- A source origtar targeted to packagers. For instruction on compiling the Pidgin plugin from source please see the README.
- A Windows installer targeted to Windows users. Installation should be as simple as a double-click, assuming you have pidgin already installed. Because Pidgin is weird, there is no png support, like always.
- A "nowebp" Windows installer that does not use libwebp, because the other version causes problems for someone, apparently.
- For the Adium bundle, see the previous release.
Note that the "Source Code (zip)" and "Source Code (tar.gz)" buttons are broken, because GitHub can't properly handle submodules. m(
Changes since the last version:
- Fixed a single typo in the German translation
- Fixed minor build issues with new MinGW version

- An Adium bundle graciously provided by @ksuther. In case anything goes wrong, you may also find this helpful: dSYM (debug symbols)
Note that the "Source Code (zip)" and "Source Code (tar.gz)" buttons are broken, because GitHub can't properly handle submodules. m(
Changes since the last version:
- Fixed minor details required to build telegram-adium (developmentRegion and no arm64)
- Updated dependencies for newer MinGW versions
- Updated dependencies for telegram-adium
- Updated documentation and links
Bugfixes and improvements welcome.
Purple Bundle v1.4.5
Check out tdlib-purple, which will hopefully become telegram-purple's successor. Note that only the following features are missing:
- Retrieve history on first login (not everyone needs this)
- Add options to ignore certain groups (why use a messenger if you don't want to ever see those messages?!)
- Turn off sending read receipts: ars3niy/tdlib-purple#22
So it's a good replacement in many cases already.
This is a bundle of all sources and binaries related to version 1.4.5:

- A Windows installer targeted to Windows users. Installation should be as simple as a double-click, assuming you have pidgin already installed. Because Pidgin is weird, there is no png support, like always.
- A "nowebp" Windows installer that does not use libwebp, because the other version causes problems for someone, apparently.
Maybe an Adium bundle soon?
Note that the "Source Code (zip)" and "Source Code (tar.gz)" buttons are broken, because GitHub can't properly handle submodules. m(
Changes since the last version:
- New feature: Enable setting the download URI base; this seems to be interesting for bitlbee users.
- Improvement: Update and improve searching for zlib (ax_check_zlib.m4)
- Fix:
sed
invocation on macOS - Fix: Cross-reference to telepathy-morse.
- Improvement: Automatically build on ppc64le
Caveat emptor! We only build there. I don't have access to any such hardware, telegram-purple has no real tests, and I know nothing about ppc64le.
Bugfixes and improvements are welcome.
Purple Bundle v1.4.4
If you're new to this, instead check out tdlib-purple, which will hopefully become telegram-purple's successor. Note that some features like secret chats are missing, so it's not a good replacement yet.
This is a bundle of all sources and binaries related to version 1.4.4:
- A source origtar targeted to packagers. For instruction on compiling the Pidgin plugin from source please see the README.
- A Windows installer targeted to Windows users. Installation should be as simple as a double-click, assuming you have pidgin already installed. Because Pidgin is weird, there is no png support, like always.
- A "nowebp" Windows installer that does not use libwebp, because the other version causes problems for someone, apparently.
- Maybe an Adium bundle soon?
Note that the "Source Code (zip)" and "Source Code (tar.gz)" buttons are broken, because GitHub can't properly handle submodules. m(
Changes since the last version:
- Always display the system account 'Telegram' as online.
- Adium: Lots of work, thanks to Kent Sutherland!
- Fix some typos and build issues
- AppStream: use new destination directory (which means we're not compatible with old AppStream versions!)
Purple Bundle
This is a bundle of all sources and binaries related to version 1.4.3:
- A source origtar targeted to packagers. For instruction on compiling the Pidgin plugin from source please see the README.
- A Windows installer targeted to Windows users. Installation should be as simple as a double-click, assuming you have pidgin already installed. Because Pidgin is weird, there is no png support, like always.
- A "nowebp" Windows installer that does not use libwebp, because the other version causes problems for someone, apparently.
- An Adium bundle graciously provided by @ksuther.
Note that both Windows installer variants support libpng, and should be somewhat "reproducible".
Note that the "Source Code (zip)" and "Source Code (tar.gz)" buttons are broken, because GitHub can't properly handle submodules. m(
Purple Bundle
This is a bundle of all sources and binaries related to version 1.4.2:
- A source origtar targeted to packagers. For instruction on compiling the Pidgin plugin from source please see the README.
- A Windows installer targeted to Windows users. Installation should be as simple as a double-click, assuming you have pidgin already installed.
- A "nowebp" Windows installer that does not use libwebp, because that caused problems for .
- An Adium bundle is graciously provided by @ksuther.
Note that both Windows installer variants support libpng. EDIT 2019-09-15: Huh, they don't. Or at least, they shouldn't, because of a bug.
Note that the "Source Code (zip)" and "Source Code (tar.gz)" buttons are broken, because GitHub can't properly handle submodules.
Purple Bundle
Sadly, we cannot build the binary bundle for the Adium messenger any longer. However, @ksuther uploaded an inofficial build here.

Also see the "nowebp" build that does not use libwebp. Note that both versions do not yet support libpng. (Support for libpng comes in telegram-purple 1.4.2 or something.)
