This plugin provides a fully functional AI backend. It can be used as alternative choice for the AI subsystem which is being shipped with Moodle 4.5. The AI manager provides the key feature of being a multi-tenant AI backend which is the main reason you should be using this plugin for providing AI functionality in your moodle instance instead of the moodle core AI subsystem.
CARE: Currently, plugins requiring the moodle AI subsystem are not compatible with the AI manager and vice versa.

Once installed, the local_ai_manager plugin will register a navigation node in the primary navigation. If you do not want this, you can disable the navigation node by an admin setting of the local_ai_manager plugin. By clicking on the navigation node you will be redirected to the main configuration page of your tenant. For accessing the tenant config pages, you will need to have either the capability local/ai_manager:manage on the tenant context (system context by default, but can be customized by a hook) or local/ai_manager:managetenents on the system context.
The selected tenant is being determined by the current user's configured tenant user field (which is an admin setting, currently you currently can select between institution (default) and department). If the field is empty for your user, this means that the "default tenant" is being used. If you want to make configurations for a different tenant than the one which is being automatically determined by the user field, you can just use the deeplink https://your_moodle_site.com/local/ai_manager/tenant_config.php?tenant=YOUR_TENANT_IDENTIFIER. Of course, you will need sufficient capabilities for being able to use that.
As this plugin makes heavy usage of the hooks and dependency injection, you need at least Moodle 4.4 for running this plugin.
- Log in to your Moodle site as an admin and go to Site administration > Plugins > Install plugins.
- Upload the ZIP file with the plugin code. You should only be prompted to add extra details if your plugin type is not automatically detected.
- Check the plugin validation report and finish the installation.
The plugin can be also installed by putting the contents of this directory to
{your/moodle/dirroot}/local/ai_manager
Afterwards, log in to your Moodle site as an admin and go to Site administration > Notifications to complete the installation.
Alternatively, you can run
$ php admin/cli/upgrade.php
to complete the installation from the command line.
