This is the first pull request related to issue #751.
It replaces the misc/docs directory that contained pdf, odt, doc and docx manuals by reStructuredText (rst) versions of those manuals.
The rst format can be processed by sphinx to generate pages in web format or PDF. It is the most common standard in Python packages and it is very git-friendly, because it is text based.
