Removing labels with ⌫ Backspace does not work.

The key is bound to the labels layer. Likely, the currently selected layer is annotations instead.

Fix the problem by deleting annotations layer and make sure the labels layer is selected.

How to remove small, noise-induced labels efficiently?

1. Sort the table by area.
2. Select all labels that are smaller than the smallest chromosome label.
3. Hit ⌫ Backspace to delete the selected labels.

How to remove annotation-induced labels efficiently?

1. Activate Manual labelling.
2. Select all relevant labels in any order.
3. Finish Manual labelling.
4. Sort the table by label.
5. Select all unassigned labels.
6. Hit ⌫ Backspace to delete the selected labels.
