Troubleshooting Guide

Having issues now, are we? Well, you came to the right page! This page will guide you through the steps needed to be taken seriously by any user of this plugin! Let's get started.

Step 1: Is your Hardware even supported?

You can't use this with an Nvidia GPU or a Intel CPU alone. You need to have a supported device in your system and have the latest AMD driver installed. If your hardware is in the following page, it is supported: Hardware Support

Step 2: Upgrade your Drivers, upgrade your OBS, upgrade the Plugin!

Many issues can be fixed by simply upgrading to the latest version:

And yes, it is okay to install plugin updates over the normal obs install. Just make sure to remove the plugin first before installing a new OBS version or you might end up without the plugin!

Step 3: Look through the FAQ

Often people have asked things many times before you, or encountered the same issue. These cases are documented in the FAQ!
Read the FAQ

Step 4: Are you using the Presets or Simple encoder?

If you are using the Encoder called [Advanced], you will not receive support unless it's a crash or a bug. Nobody will hold your hand for that interface - it is for people who need to touch all options after all, so you kinda brought this on yourself.

Step 5: Look through the Issue Tracker

Someone else might have already encountered the same issue as you and had it answered. That usually ends up in the FAQ but there are some Issues that are too specific for that.

Step 6: Verify your configuration!

A lot of issues stem from incorrect configurations, so make sure that it doesn't break the guidelines shown on the Configuration page.

Finally: Report an Issue

So you actually made it down here. Darnit and I thought I could get away with less work. Well, here's what I'll need of you:

  • Full System Specifications (Motherboard, CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD, etc.) (You can generate this with the free Speccy tool)
  • Currently Installed OBS Version
  • Currently Installed Plugin Version
  • Log Files for each Video included in the Issue with Debug Tracing active
  • Full Description of the Issue

Once you have all of that, click this link and start writing your Description, include links to the log and recording and don't forget your full system specifications.
