• Syntax exists for clarity. It shall be clear both conceptually and visually.
• Decrease ambiguity.
  • Syntax shall be unambiguous.
• Balance between multiple ways to do the same thing and syntax complexity (Rust is biased towards the number of special symbols).
• Subefficient unless transparently optimized.
