I had some time over the weekend so I added a bit more to this PR. Changes include:

Exposes a timeout class attribute, allowing global configuration of the default API timeout
Adds a timeout argument to each function for further flexibility
Adds dedicated methods for fetching specific record types


          Allow timeouts to be set on a per-request basis
