I thought that Scalar Crypto will continue to be used in embedded because they require way less logic. Did I misunderstand?

This is text in the RVA23 profile document. It does not read on any other use of the extension. Scalar crypto remains a valid extension, just not one that is an option in RVA23, or subsequent RVA profiles.
