I fixed this in nix-ocaml/nix-overlays@5a70f0b for myself and tested it in a program that cross-compiles to a static musl program. |

In cross-compilation scenarios,
CCandARwill have a prefix likex86_64-unknown-linux-musl-.In those cases,
$ARwill be set to the correct program, which we should use.
