This is a new Rails 7.1 app which has all the important assets copied over.

There are a few things that I changed to make it work as-is:

  • the stylesheets now use SASS using the sass npm package
  • The initializers for the meetups and team are now inlined into the corresponding model
  • The meetup section has the map removed
  • The meetup section has no sign up button
  • The GitHub sign-up flow currently doesn't work and the button are therefore hidden

Things to check:

  • Do we still have access to the ruvetia.org domain?
  • Do we have a data-dump/back of the database that used to live on the old website?
  • Do we still have access to the Gmail account?
  • Do we have to update the "Team" section?

Hi @marcoroth

Thanks for the effort to bring this back. I double checked and I do still have access to the Ruvetia GMail account and Twitter. For the domain and database, I think we need to check with @danielpuglisi. I don't have access to those.

Updating the Team section probably makes sense. You should at least add yourself and before we do a first meetup, we should double check with the current members listed if they are interested in bringing ruvetia back or if we'd rather move them off the active list.
