Adding Me Protocol To Grants-Program

Project Abstract

The Me Protocol is a purpose-built exchange infrastructure for blockchain-based loyalty rewards. It provides the fundamental technology for the creation of a frictionless, limitless, and decentralised rewards ecosystem for all companies, large or small, to participate.

Grant level

• Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
• Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
• Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)

Application Checklist

• The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (MeProtocol.md).
• I have read the application guidelines.
• A BTC, Ethereum (USDC/DAI) or Polkadot/Kusama (aUSD/USDT) address for the payment of the milestones is provided in the application.
• The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application.
• The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
• The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted (see the announcement guidelines).

Hi @keeganquigley we are set to deliver now, but please we have a final question on licensing. We will like to keep our project open-sourced, but restrict commercial use for a short time frame just like Uniswap V3. Please what are your views on this?

Hi @AgentPoles does this mean that you would want to use a Business Source License (BUSL)?

As this is what Uniswap v3 is using. It is not one of the supported licenses in our guidelines so I would have to check with the team to see if we could accept it, and it would also require an amendment.

Hi @keeganquigley, we have decided to proceed with the GPL v3 License. We are set to raise our PR. Also please, we will like to update the wallet address provided in this application. Do we do that first before raising the delivery PR (as i can see we need to specify the application PR Number when submitting the delivery)? or we can do both simultenously ?

Thanks @AgentPoles for the update. To update the wallet address, please amend the original application and submit a PR, as it will require 3 approvals. But yes you can submit the delivery in the meantime, it is not a problem to submit both simultaneously. Thanks!
