This extension lets you quickly navigate to a new URL using the current tab URL as a parameter. It requires no special permissions so install it and see the options page for more information. Yes, similar functionality could be achieved through search engines.
- Clone this repository.
- Go to
chrome://extensions. - Enable Developer mode (checkbox at the top right).
- Click Load unpacked extension... button.
- Select the cloned directory.
- Profit.
