First "stable" release
Simple installation for Windows (Windows XP and newer, I don't know whether it works on Windows 2000):
- download "nfs2se-win32.zip" and unpack it,
- insert original CD-ROM with "Need For Speed II SE" (or mount/unpack CD image),
- copy "fedata" and "gamedata" directories into previously unpacked "Need For Speed II SE" directory,
- run "nfs2se.exe"!
Linux requirements:
- x86 CPU (if you have 64-bit Linux you must install all needed 32-bit libraries),
- 32-bit glibc 2.3.4 or newer,
- 32-bit X11 (libX11.so.6, libXext.so.6, libXinerama.so.1, libXrandr.so.2, libXxf86vm.so.1),
- 32-bit OpenGL (libGL.so.1),
- all 32-bit libraries mustn't require 16-byte stack alignment, otherwise the game will crash (will be fixed in next release),
The Linux installation is similar to Windows installation except one thing: all files and directories MUST have small letters!
The game requires OpenGL 1.1 or newer.
The executable file is statically linked to SDL 2.0.4.
