Georgia Overview

Currently there is no centralized authentication mechanism in Georgia. There was an effort to establish OpenID in the past which is no longer operational.

A SAML-based centralized authentication service which is compatible to eIDAS is planned to start in 2017 and become operational in 2017-2018. It will support authentication via at least username/password and eID card.

MobileID project is planned to start in 2017 or early 2018. Once it becomes operational, MobileID will be also integrated in the SAML-based centralized authentication service.
